Jake Baggott, a Yr 6 pupil at The Meadows, had done an amazing selfless task and had his long hair cut and donated it to the ‘Little Princess Trust’. The trust make wigs for boys and girls that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
He was sponsored for doing this and has also managed to raise £450.00 so far.
Congratulations Jake. We are all very proud of you.
Jack Fitzimons from Class 5K is the winner of the local round of a writing competition run by Explore Learning. We recently received an email from Explore Learning saying,
‘ I’m just sending an email to thank you for having Explore Learning at The Meadows, we had a fantastic time during our workshops and are loving the National Young Writer entries J. We had hundreds of entries at the centre this year and our centre winner was a student from the Meadows, Jack Fitzsimons! We invited him into the centre and had a really good chat with him about his story and awarded him a medal and trophy. We are now sending off his entry to Head Office for the finals, very exciting stuff.’
Well done to Jack and to all the Year 5 children who entered the competition. We know the standard was very high and we are extremely proud of all our writers. We await to hear further of Jack’s success at the next round! Well done Jack!
